Cancer Center

The Abramson Cancer Center at the Pennsylvania Medical Center is a global leader in cancer research, patient care, and education. The Penn Medicine Center is the first CAR-T cell therapy developer and the first FDA-approved cancer gene therapy developer. It has conducted more than 75 cell therapy clinical trials, with more than 1,150 patients enrolled in CAR-T cell therapy clinical trials. At the Abramson Proton Therapy Center, the world's largest comprehensive radiation oncology center, patients receive highly precise radiation therapy that can eradicate tumors while sparing healthy surrounding tissue and eliminating many of the side effects of traditional radiation therapy. Many Penn Medicine physicians also see patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Michael J. Crescenz Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
